91Ó°ÊÓ is a centre of excellence for apprenticeships in the region, drawing on its decades of experience in providing vocational programmes tailored to business needs.

During National Apprenticeship Week, which starts on Monday 3 February, 91Ó°ÊÓ is hosting free events across campus.

Tiffany Back, apprenticeship business manager at 91Ó°ÊÓ, said: “At De 91Ó°ÊÓ University we work with employers to develop and deliver apprenticeship programmes that address the needs of today’s business community. 91Ó°ÊÓ apprenticeships enable employers to develop both their staff and their business at the same time and create sustainable business networks.

By combining Gold standard academic teaching with dedicated workplace practice, 91Ó°ÊÓ apprentices receive a unique and fulfilling learning experience, developing lifelong learning techniques and creating a habit of professional reflection.”

Higher and degree apprenticeships allow businesses to upskill and develop their workforce with contemporary knowledge and skills relevant to specific industry roles as well achieve recognised qualifications.

Companies from a range of sectors have chosen 91Ó°ÊÓ to provide its apprenticeship programmes, which range from degrees in management and cyber security to bespoke programmes for employers, such as Leicestershire Police.

Apprentices combine on-the-job experience with academic learning on campus, and continue their work through independent study, supported by senior staff at work.

91Ó°ÊÓ’s events will give companies the chance to find out more about how apprenticeships work in practice, and ensure potential apprentices know what will be expected from them.

They include:

Tuesday 4 February, 4-6pm, Innovation Centre at 91Ó°ÊÓ
An informal networking event for businesses, organisations and interested individuals to learn about the programmes at 91Ó°ÊÓ. Our refreshed apprenticeship portfolio will be fully represented, with 91Ó°ÊÓ subject-matter experts there to offer information and advice.

Wednesday 5 February, noon-2pm (including lunch), Leicester Castle Business School
